Installation
- Go to the Atlassian Marketplace
- Search for Better Lists for Confluence.
- Click Try it free to install the app into your Confluence Cloud site.
- The app runs on Atlassian’s Forge infrastructure – no further setup is required.
Adding the Macro
- Open the Confluence page where you want to display a list.
- Click the “+” icon in the editor and search for Better Confluence Lists (better-confluence-list-react).
- Insert the Better Lists macro into your page.
Saving the Page
Before you can fully configure the macro, the Confluence page must be saved at least once.
This is because the macro configuration is stored with the page itself.
- Insert the macro → save the page → then either re-enter edit mode or directly click on the settings button to adjust the settings.
- Any configuration changes you make will be stored as part of that page.
Configuring the Macro
- Search Mode
- Text Search: Enter a simple search term.
- CQL: Use Confluence Query Language for advanced searches.
- Content Types
Choose which items to include: pages, blog posts, comments, attachments, or spaces. - Columns
Select the columns you want to display (e.g., title, type, author, created/updated date, space, labels, comment count). - Sorting
Choose any column to sort by (ascending or descending). - User Filter
Optionally filter by author or last modifier.
Once configured, click Insert. The macro will show the results directly on your page.
Saving & Reusing
- The macro configuration is stored with the page.
- You can edit the macro at any time by clicking on it in edit mode.
- Multiple macros can be added to the same page with different configurations.
Next Steps
Future updates will add:
